Most locations have seen spawning come and gone and fish moving up in the water and down the margins. If Tench fishing is your thing then you are in for a real treat with many reports of large tinca's being caught from just about every venue where this species resides. Large Ccarp are being caught at all the local hotspots, with the evenings and early mornings providing the bulk of the action. The rivers are open and although running low and clear, what could be better than stalking your prey whilst enjoying your surroundings and the expectancy of the rise of a Chub or the dark shadow of a hovering Barbel, the Stour and Avon calls!

If you are into your sea fishing then look no further than the local area for Bass, Smoothhounds, Bream and Mackerel. Shore anglers and local charter boats are reporting bumper catches including some specimen fish including the new Tope record (84lb). Whether you call into Hayling Island, Eastney, Lee on Solent or Hill Head there is plenty of action.
